Mason & Forster

Mason & Forster is a family stonemasonry, conservation and restoration business based in the north-east of England and North Yorkshire, working throughout the UK. The team sources, supplies and works stone and specialises in lime, pointing, repairing and building with traditional materials and methods. It has extensive experience of monuments and Grade I and II listed buildings, with work for English Heritage, the War Graves Commission, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Bank of England, and at sites including Hadrian’s Wall, York Minster and Whitby Abbey. Other skills include fibrous plasterwork, casting in plaster, mortar and bronze, faience and terracotta repair, brick matching, terrazzo, stucco and mosaic repair, and re-bronzing of plaques. It also provides condition reports and surveys and teaches masonry, carving and lime pointing.
