Lime Restoration

Lime Restoration is the business of Edward, a craftsman in Salisbury who has repaired cob and lime buildings since 1999. He carries out porous lime plastering, lime putty rendering, spalled stone and brick repairs, and cob repair. He also does flint, brick and stone pointing in lime mortar with gritstone, wall capping repairs and stonework repairs. He trained further in the use of lime in restoration at West Dean College. His approach puts drying out damp walls ahead of sealing them, and he prefers patch-repairing original lime plaster wherever possible. He works with conservation officers on listed buildings. He mainly works directly for owners in Wiltshire and Hampshire, and offers hands-on tuition to owners carrying out smaller repairs themselves.
