James Allan Stonemasons

James Allan Stonemasons is an Edinburgh stonemasonry firm with more than 30 years of experience, working across Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian, West Lothian, Fife and the Borders. It specialises in tenement repairs and states that it only uses lime mortar. Stone repairs are carried out by replacement, part indenting or Lithomex repair, and failed or cement pointing is replaced with traditional lime pointing. The firm also rebuilds walls, repairs chimneys and carries out stone repairs to churches, including carving. Stone and brick cleaning methods include low-pressure steam, wet media blasting and chemical paint removal. It also offers a free sample panel of lime pointing or stone repair before work is commissioned.
