Hugh McMahon Stained Glass

Hugh McMahon has designed, made and repaired stained glass and leaded lights using traditional techniques in Old Basford, north Nottingham, since 1994. Trained in fine art, he served an apprenticeship with a glass decorator, learning leadwork and acid etching, before setting up his own business. His work covers repairs and new windows for houses in Nottingham and the surrounding area. He states that he has built up a wide knowledge of the period glass of the Nottingham area and an understanding of what helps a leaded panel last. His website also explains the difference between leaded lights and true stained glass, in which silver stain is fired onto the glass. Appointments should be arranged by telephone first.
