Holy Well Glass
Holy Well Glass is a family-run stained glass conservation centre at Old Priory Mill, Wells, set up by Steve Clare in 1995. It works on cathedrals, churches and country houses in the UK and beyond, conserving stained glass and plain glazing from medieval to modern, including leaded lights, fanlights, roof lights and lanterns. Work runs from condition reports and recommendations through site work and installation. The studio makes Environmental Protective Glazing systems, holds stocks of handmade glass, and has a stone conservator and mason on the team. Steve Clare is an ICON-accredited conservator, Fellow of the British Society of Master Glass Painters and National Stained Glass Adviser to the National Trust, and has advised St George’s Chapel, Windsor, King’s College, Cambridge and Winchester Cathedral. Several team members are ICON accredited.
