Georgian Brickwork
Georgian Brickwork is a Kent-based team of bricklayers specialising in the conservation and restoration of brick-built period and listed properties. The team is led by Charles Reilly, a heritage bricklayer with more than 25 years’ experience, supported by two bricklayers and two improvers. Work covers lime mortar, lime pointing and repointing, tuck pointing, gauged arches and carved brickwork, for private clients and as a specialist subcontractor. Recent projects include a three-metre curved gauged arch in Mayfair, tuck pointing in Ramsgate and repointing a sixteenth-century cottage in Deal. The firm also offers consultancy to owners, developers, architects and project managers, and runs training events from its workshop at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham.
Suitable for: repair of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century brickwork, gauged arches, tuck pointing and flintwork, and practical training in traditional brickwork.
