Forbes & Lomax
Forbes & Lomax was established in 1987 to meet a need among interior designers and architects working on prestigious projects, for whom the glass, nickel and brass switches of the 1930s were no longer available. The firm’s answer was the Invisible Lightswitch, a transparent acrylic plate with a metal toggle at its centre that lets the wallpaper or paint show through. The range has since grown to include toggle switches, push buttons, rotary dimmers, sockets and home automation controls in finishes such as unlacquered, aged, brushed and matt brass, nickel silver, stainless steel and antique bronze, together with a painted range that can be decorated to match the wall.
Suitable for: listed and period interiors where switch plates need to recede into panelling, wallpaper or painted walls.
Services: Invisible Lightswitch; toggle switches; push button switches; rotary dimmers; sockets; home automation controls; painted and metal finishes; bespoke engraving.
Location: St John’s Hill, London SW11.
