Fairhurst
Fairhurst is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy organised as a partnership, with roots going back more than 120 years and about 400 staff working from 16 principal offices in the UK. It started as a civil and structural design practice and now also covers geotechnical and environmental work, roads and bridges, traffic and transport planning, rail, water services, planning and development, landscape and urban design, health and safety, and mining legacy advice. A dedicated team works on energy transmission, distribution and generation projects. Most of its work is infrastructure and new development, but its structural engineers also deal with existing buildings, including restoration of the Ostler’s Hut in London, a small listed structure. The firm’s offices in Scotland include Inverness, Elgin, Thurso and Edinburgh, with further offices in England, so it can support projects across much of the UK.
