English Heritage
English Heritage is the charity that cares for over 400 historic sites across England, including castles, abbeys, forts, historic houses and monuments, on behalf of the nation. Separate from Historic England (the government’s statutory heritage adviser), English Heritage manages and conserves this national collection of properties, opens them to the public, and carries out conservation and repair work on the sites in its care. It is a key point of contact and reference for conservation practice and guidance across the historic buildings sector.
