E J Goodall Master Thatcher Ltd

E J Goodall Master Thatcher Ltd is a Hampshire thatching business run by Ed Goodall, who has 33 years in the trade. He began his apprenticeship in 1989 with the Cleeves family, thatchers across five generations. The business works in three main materials, water reed, wheat reed and long straw, and carries out repairs, maintenance and full replacement of thatched roofs. Much of its work is on traditional English country cottages and other older thatched properties, though it also thatches extensions and new buildings, including an oak-framed new build in Sussex. Its working area covers Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey. Owners can contact the office or Ed’s mobile to arrange a visit, and the business publishes guidance on thatch types, a gallery of completed roofs and answers to common questions.
