Durrant & Daughter is a plastering business run by Jon and Lottie, both trained by Master Plaisterers and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings in lime renders, lime plasters and running cornice in situ. Alongside modern plastering, the firm repairs lath and plaster walls and ceilings, re-securing loose plaster and re-lathing missing sections, and repairs exterior lime render. Ornamental work includes cornices, ceiling roses, corbels and mouldings, with pieces replicated from moulds or new lengths run from cross-sections. Jon has repaired ornamental plaster in West End theatres, including the English National Opera house, and is an Assistant Tutor on SPAB courses. The firm also carries out Bath stone repairs and lime repointing.
