D.G. Shelley Master Thatcher Ltd

D.G. Shelley Master Thatcher Ltd is run by Dan Shelley, whose family has worked as thatchers for at least six generations. Based in St Albans, he covers Hertfordshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, where thatched buildings are finished in long wheat straw, water reed or combed wheat reed, and he works in all three. Jobs range from small repairs to complete roof overhauls, and he will visit a property to assess the roof before giving a quotation. Dan states he is a member of the East Midlands Master Thatchers Association and the National Society of Master Thatchers.
