CORA Consulting Engineers
CORA Consulting Engineers is a structural engineering practice set up in Dublin in 2006, with a team of more than 40 staff working from an open-plan office on Lower Mount Street. Most of its work is general building structures, but its portfolio also includes historic and cultural buildings. These include Slane Castle Distillery, the Picture Palace in Galway and the renovation of the Natural History Museum in Dublin, described as the building’s first major refurbishment since 1856. The team has also been involved with repairs to the Abbey Church spire on Parnell Square, where corroded iron cramps were replaced with stainless steel ties. The practice has an interest in timber construction and has spoken publicly on the regulatory limits on mass timber in Ireland.
