Chimella The Chimney Umbrella
Chimella Ltd makes the Chimella chimney umbrella, a removable draught excluder for open flues. The device is pushed up the chimney on a handle, opened with a single click and tensioned into the corners of the flue, where it blocks cold downdraughts, catches soot and debris and keeps birds out while the fire is not in use. It is designed to suit round, square, rectangular and irregular flues and is made in three sizes. The product holds a registered EU design and has been assessed for energy-saving purposes; the firm was founded by Simon Wild and appeared on Dragons’ Den.
Suitable for: open fireplaces in older houses that are lit only occasionally and lose warmed air up the chimney for the rest of the year.
Services: removable chimney draught excluders in standard, large and extra large sizes; fitting guidance and instruction booklet; product registration and warranty.
Location: London E4; supplied by post across the UK.
