Bartlett and Sons Master Thatchers

Bartlett and Sons is a family thatching business run by brothers Sam and Alex Bartlett with their father Mike, based at Downton near Salisbury. The family traces its thatching back several generations. The team carries out rethatching and repairs, including on extensions, and offers a range of ridge styles from scalloped to straight-cut patterns. It also thatches porches, gazebos and summerhouses, and prepares condition reports for insurance purposes. Clients include the owner of a Grade II listed cottage the family has maintained for many years, and households needing reinstatement after a thatch fire. Work is carried out by the family without sub-contractors across Fordingbridge, Salisbury, the New Forest, Burley, Stockbridge, Ringwood, Lymington, Blandford, Romsey and the wider Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire area.
