Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS)
The Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS) is the trade association that has represented companies in lightning protection and specialist access at height since 1946. Member firms are assessed on financial stability, recognised technical standards, health and safety commitment and a competent, qualified workforce, and the association maintains a searchable register of members. ATLAS runs training courses and events, including apprentice awards for steeplejacks and lightning conductor engineers, publishes downloadable technical guides, and keeps the industry abreast of standards such as the BS EN IEC 62305 lightning protection series updated in 2024.
Suitable for: building owners, architects and surveyors seeking vetted contractors for lightning protection, steeplejack work or specialist access on churches, towers and other tall structures.
