Action to Protect Rural Scotland, generally known as APRS, is the charity that campaigns to protect, enhance and promote Scotland’s countryside and rural landscapes for everyone’s benefit, and supports others to do the same. Based in Edinburgh, it supports communities in having a say on development in their local areas, with particular attention to Green Belts around towns and cities, and campaigns for more National Parks in Scotland. Its current work includes a prominent campaign for a moratorium on hyperscale data centres pending compulsory environmental impact assessment, supported by published research and mapping of proposals in the planning system.
