Architects Registration Board
The Architects Registration Board is the statutory regulator of architects in the United Kingdom. It maintains the Architects Register, the definitive record of all UK architects; anyone not on the Register may not use the title. The board sets the Architects Code, the standards of professionalism, competence and conduct every architect must meet, operates a continuing professional development scheme, and oversees the initial education and training of architects, including the prescribed examination route to registration. It investigates concerns about registered architects and about misuse of the protected title, and publishes a corporate strategy and annual report.
Suitable for: architects and those seeking registration, clients wishing to verify an architect’s registered status, and anyone with concerns about professional conduct.
Services: the Architects Register and public search facility; regulation of education and training; the Architects Code and supporting guidance; CPD scheme; complaints and title-misuse investigation.
Location: London; national.
