Adam Follon Master Thatcher Ltd

Adam Follon Master Thatcher Ltd is a Winchester-based thatching firm handling full and partial rethatching, new builds and extensions, patching and emergency repairs, including leaks, fire and wildlife damage and the replacement of cement around chimneys. It works in combed wheat, long straw and Norfolk water reed, using locally sourced material, and finishes ridges in combed straw with a wrap-over saddle in flush or patterned block styles. The firm notes that listed thatched buildings usually have to be recovered in the material previously used. Other services include chimney and window aprons, detailed roof inspections, insurance and mortgage condition reports, fire-proofing and vermin-control advice. Clients have included preservation trusts, rural museums, local authorities, schools and private owners, and the firm states it covers most of the United Kingdom. It states that Adam Follon has been a member of the National Society of Master Thatchers for more than ten years.
