Low modulas black silicone for common half round, ogee, deep half round, moulded G46 cast iron guttering and round pipes.
U9 Black Silicone is a low-modulus black silicone sealant formulated for jointing cast iron gutters and pipes. Low-modulus silicone remains flexible after curing, accommodating the thermal expansion and contraction that cast iron guttering undergoes through temperature cycles across the year without the joint cracking or losing adhesion. This flexibility makes it significantly more durable than standard frame or construction silicones on cast iron joints.
Supplied in black to match the standard factory black finish of cast iron gutters and pipes. Compatible with all standard cast iron gutter profiles: common half round, beaded half round, deep half round, moulded ogee, G46 moulded ogee, Notts OG, and No.46 moulded. Yes. The Louvre Airbrick is dimensioned to standard brick course openings and is suitable for direct replacement of worn, broken, or missing original cast iron louvre grilles. If you are unsure of the size required, measure the opening in the brickwork rather than the existing damaged grille.
It is possible for us to supply towel warmers with an electric heating element in them. The Electrad system is a unique system available to us, that enables independent heating of towel rails and radiators via the properties electrical system.
Yes. Cast iron ornamental vents in period patterns are frequently specified on listed buildings and conservation area properties as like-for-like replacements for original Victorian ironwork. Conservation officers generally accept cast iron in period patterns without objection. We can supply specifications to support planning and listed building consent applications.
All of our cast iron radiators are availbale as standard with a 1/2″ BSP (15mm) connection. We are though also able to supply many of our radiators and valves with 3/4″ BSP connections. Due to the size proportions of some radiators and valves 3/4″ connections may be more suitable.

Many modern materials focus on replicating the appearance of cast iron but those materials can vary rarely offer any of the benefits. When describing modern materials, the term ‘cost effective’ is used rather than simply saying cheap. There is no doubt that the initial cost of many modern materials is less than cast iron but you might be surprised to know that over its lifespan, cast iron will cost around a third of plastic.

Cast iron radiators cost no more to run than modern steel or aluminium radiators. Cast iron is a very efficient material at emitting heat, thus you have items like le creuset cast iron pans. Cast iron holds it’s heat extremly well, which means that the radiators stay warm for longer.
We do offer a range of Ogee patterned gutters in both straight and radius profiles. The straight profiles are much more common and as such cost less.
The Cast Iron Louvre Airbrick suits Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, semi-detached properties, public houses, agricultural buildings, and workshop structures where the original airbrick was a louvre-face grille. The horizontal fin profile is widely found in British domestic and light industrial construction from the 1870s through to the 1950s.
