Plain deep half-round gutter No. 44
Sizes Available:
125 x 100mm
150 x 100mm
200 x 100mm
(Large deep cast iron guttering for listed and period properties)
The TFH3 is a large sand cast plain deep half round gutter — a substantial cast iron profile suited to buildings where standard stock sizes are insufficient for the roof area or drainage load. Also known as the No.44 pattern, it is the large-format equivalent of the standard plain deep half round and is typically specified on Victorian and Edwardian country houses, institutional buildings, large churches, and heritage estate properties where the roof area demands a high-capacity gutter without the additional decorative detail of a moulded or ogee profile.
The plain deep half round cross-section gives a clean, unfussy appearance that sits comfortably on utilitarian and agricultural heritage buildings as well as more formal period architecture. The deep section provides significantly greater drainage capacity than standard half round profiles of equivalent face width.
Available in three sizes: 125×100mm, 150×100mm, and 200×100mm. Manufactured in sand cast iron to BS 460:2002. Supplied in grey primer or black painted finish. Fittings and brackets are available to suit the full range of sizes — contact Tuscan Foundry Products to discuss your project requirements.
Suitable for: Large period properties, country houses, institutional buildings, churches, estate and agricultural heritage buildings. Call for price: 0333 987 4452.

The Antique Black finish suits Victorian, Edwardian, and inter-war buildings where ventilation ironwork was painted rather than polished — estate houses, terrace housing, civic buildings, and rural properties. It is also correct for listed buildings and conservation area properties requiring like-for-like replacement of original ornamental cast iron vents.
The Strayton H42A accepts round, square, and rectangular pipe connections. Round: 65mm, 75mm, and 100mm. Square: 75×75mm, 100×100mm, and 125×125mm. Rectangular: 100×75mm, 125×100mm, and 150×100mm. Please specify your required connection size when ordering.
Our cast iron hopper heads are available in a standard primed and black-painted finish, ready for on-site topcoats. Heritage colour finishes and factory-applied linseed oil paint are available on request. Linseed oil paint is a vapour-permeable, period-appropriate finish particularly well suited to listed buildings and conservation area properties.
The Antique Black finish is cast iron with a blackened surface — the most historically accurate finish for cast iron ironwork and the most appropriate for the majority of heritage applications. Polished Lacquered is cast iron with a bright polished surface sealed with clear lacquer, suited to interiors and sheltered locations where polished ironwork is the specification. Polished Brass is solid polished brass throughout — the correct choice where existing building fittings are in brass or where a warm metal tone is required.
Tuscan Foundry's cast iron hopper heads are available in Standard Black and Heritage Colour finishes. A linseed oil paint finish is also offered — a sustainable, vapour-permeable option particularly appropriate for listed buildings and conservation projects. Heritage colour swatches are available from the team on request.
The School Board Airbrick is suited to Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, mid-century school buildings, civic halls, public baths, and converted institutional buildings. Its plain square-grid face matches the utilitarian aesthetic of late-Victorian construction and is also appropriate for new heritage-style builds in conservation areas.
Yes. Cast iron ornamental vents in period patterns are frequently specified on listed buildings and conservation area properties as like-for-like replacements for original Victorian ironwork. Conservation officers generally accept cast iron in period patterns without objection. We can supply specifications to support planning and listed building consent applications.

Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. A linseed oil paint finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for conservation projects.
