The RB500DH is a zinc-plated top rafter rise and fall bracket for plain deep half round cast iron guttering. Where open eaves construction or the absence of a fascia board requires fixing directly to the top surface of a rafter, the RB500DH provides a secure and adjustable support that allows precise fall setting along the gutter run.
The bracket features a zinc-plated steel rafter arm designed for top-surface rafter fixing, combined with a threaded rise and fall cup that adjusts the gutter height at each bracket position independently of the rafter pitch. Available in four sizes to suit all standard deep half round gutter profiles: 100mm (4″), 115mm (4.5″), 125mm (5″), and 150mm (6″).
Commonly specified on listed building and heritage restoration projects involving deep half round cast iron guttering, and on new construction where exposed rafters and open eaves are a feature of the design. The rise and fall mechanism eliminates the need to pack or shim the bracket, allowing accurate gradient setting across long gutter runs or on complex roof lines.
Zinc-plated finish provides corrosion resistance for outdoor use. The RB500DH is the deep half round equivalent of the RB500 bracket, dimensioned specifically for the wider and deeper profile of the deep half round section.
Compatibility: Plain deep half round cast iron gutter profiles 100mm, 115mm, 125mm, and 150mm. For project specification, call 0333 987 4452.

Yes. Cast iron rainwater goods are widely accepted by conservation officers and historic environment bodies as the appropriate material for listed buildings. Casting of iron is an imperfect processs. It is possible with some cast iron radiators that you will get minor imperfections in the surface finish. When radiators are painted this will reduce and over the years every additional coat of paint applied will provide a smoother more equal finish.
The School Board Airbrick is suited to Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, mid-century school buildings, civic halls, public baths, and converted institutional buildings. Its plain square-grid face matches the utilitarian aesthetic of late-Victorian construction and is also appropriate for new heritage-style builds in conservation areas.
