The Cast Iron Louvre Airbrick (F020802AFC) is available in 225mm × 75mm, 225mm × 150mm, and 225mm × 225mm — standard brick course heights. All sizes share a consistent depth for straightforward like-for-like replacement of original cast iron louvre airbricks.

BS 460:2002 is the British Standard governing cast iron rainwater goods — gutters, pipes, and fittings. It sets the dimensional tolerances, materials, and performance requirements a component must meet, so that joints seal, sections align, and the system performs as a whole rather than as isolated parts. All Tuscan Foundry Products components are manufactured to comply with BS 460:2002, which is worth citing directly in specification documents and listed building consent applications. The same manufacturing standard applies to bespoke and copy-cast work, even where the profile itself isn't from our standard range.

The in-house Premier Extra coating is formulated for a life expectancy of around 10 years under normal weather conditions, provided any impact damage or surface scuffing is made good promptly. Coastal locations or higher pollution levels can shorten this, so it's worth asking your local stockist or paint manufacturer for site-specific advice.

Cast iron airbricks are frequently specified for listed buildings and conservation area properties precisely because they replicate the material and pattern of the original Victorian and Edwardian ventilation grilles. Local conservation officers and building control typically accept like-for-like cast iron replacements without objection. Yes. Cast iron hopper heads are the historically appropriate choice for listed buildings, and are generally preferred by conservation officers and local planning authorities over modern plastic alternatives. Tuscan Foundry cast iron hopper heads are manufactured in solid grey iron and are suitable for use on listed buildings and within conservation areas. A linseed oil finish is also available, which is particularly appropriate for sensitive heritage projects.

We do offer a range of Ogee patterned gutters in both straight and radius profiles. The straight profiles are much more common and as such cost less.
