Rainwater hoppers, often called hopper heads, play a key role in any traditional rainwater system. They help manage flow, provide secondary inlet points, and prevent surges during heavy rain. Just as importantly, they offer an opportunity to add character and detail to a building’s exterior.
At Tuscan Foundry, we cast hoppers in a wide variety of shapes, profiles, and sizes — from simple, functional forms to richly detailed designs taken from period patterns. For projects looking to introduce something unique, we can personalise hoppers with dates, initials, motifs, crests or architectural detailing that reflects the building’s history or setting. Our pattern-making team can work from drawings, images or existing samples to create a faithful reproduction or something entirely new.
Every casting is produced with accuracy and longevity in mind. Whether you’re restoring a historic building, matching existing rainwater goods, or developing a bespoke piece, we’ll help guide you through the technical requirements and design options.
Hoppers can be supplied in grey primer, finished in black, painted to any RAL or BS colour, or coated in traditional linseed oil paint for a long-lasting, breathable finish (price on application).
Please note: all ornate and bespoke hopper heads are manufactured to order and are non-returnable. Our team is always on hand to advise, review photos or drawings, and help ensure the right hopper is selected for your project.
